To mark the release of the new book, entitled Dur Labeur, photographer Marc Martin and the gallery Au Bonheur du Jour invite you to a new exhibition: L'homme à la tâche. Factory workers, farm hands, manual labourers, unfailing symbols of virility, past and present, are the theme of this exhibition combining the creations of Marc Martin with historic works assembled by Nicole Canet. Men at work as unwilling seducers, unwitting provocateurs. Dur Labeur celebrates these hard working men and explores the pleasure they excite, unknowingly, and the pleasure they take in the postures and poses required by the task. Both function and fiction. A masculine world, fantastic and subtly erotic. A journey of the senses, into a humane landscape, in the company of Marc Martin and Nicole Canet.
